Activities

The GO SEBASTIANA project aims to implement a comprehensive model for selection, classification and marketing of wool aimed at increasing the competitiveness and profitability of small sheep farms. This project is beneficiary of funds for the implementation of innovation projects of general interest by the Operational Groups of the European Innovation Partnership on agricultural productivity and sustainability (AEI-AEGRI), within the framework of the National Rural Development Program 2014-2020, with funds from the European Recovery Instrument (EU Next Generation). It is a measure subsidized 100% with funds from the European Union Recovery Instrument (Next Generation Funds) and articulated through the National Rural Development Program The group is led by OVIGEN, Center for Selection and Genetic Improvement of sheep and goats of Castilla y León, and has 7 members in the group: an association of sheep farmers of Castilian breed ANCA (national level) with the main objective of improving the Castilian breed, a center for transformation and preparation of wool fibers OVINTEGRAL IBERIA SL (Castilla y León), a livestock specialized in the Castilian breed such as El Navazo (Castilla y León), a private selection and insemination center OVIGEN (Castilla y León) which keeps and manages stallions of the main breeds of sheep that cover the entire national territory, a cooperative of farmers GENOVIS (Castilla y León) specialist in sheep genomics, an artisan specialized in wool such as DLANA (Community of Madrid) which gives services and workshops throughout the national territory, and an Innovation Agent specialized in the agri-food sector: IMASDE (Madrid and national). The operational group also has the hiring of DIH-LEAF as specialists in the digital transformation of the rural environment and THE MOUNTAIN LIVESTOCK INSTITUTE-CSIC as a research center specialized in livestock.


The DIGIS3 consortium will receive funding of €1,065,361.45 to incorporate new companies and strengthen their visibility. The Council of Ministers has approved a Royal Decree, published this week in the BOE, which regulates the direct granting of subsidies to 12 Digital Innovation Centers within the Support Program for Digital Innovation Hubs (PADIH) financed by the Next Generation funds within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The total amount of aid amounts to EUR 15 million.


 

DIGIS3 (Smart, Sustainable and coheSive Digitalization conceived as a Digital Innovation Hub) has been selected as one of the 12 European Digital Innovation Hubs in Spain funded by the European Comission through the Digital Europe programme. DIGIS3 is a multiplier and disseminator of smart, sustainable and cohesive digitalisation of SMEs and public sector organisations in Castile y Leon. DIH-LEAF is a member of the consortium that has been funded with 3.447.326,00 € and will be operative until 2026.


TRIBIOME (Advanced tools for integration and synergistic inTeRconnectIon of microBIOMEs in resilient food systems) tiene el objetivo de transformar y hacer más resilientes los sistemas de producción de alimentos a partir del estudio de los microbiomas, empleando para ello soluciones digitales. El proyecto estará en ejecución hasta diciembre de 2026 y se ha financiado con 4.914.723,50 € a través de la convocatoria HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-09 del prestigioso programa Horizon Europe. DIH-LEAF participa en el diseño y despliegue de una herramienta para el apoyo en la toma de decisiones para garantizar la comunicación e interacción entre los actores del sector agroindustrial.


The Project “Smart and real-time evaluation of pesticide deposition in wine yards through image processing (DIG4VITIS)” has been selected by the State Research Agency (Ministry of Science and Innovation) to be funded with 120.750 € within the 2021 call for Ecological and Digital Transition Projects. The Universities of Burgos and Valladolid are involved in this project that will develop solutions to evaluate the deposition of pulverized pesticides on commercial wine yards with the use of digital technologies. Through the acquisition and processing of hyperspectral images of wine yards by means of AI methods, an array of real-time indicators will be obtained to assess the pesticide deposition.


DIH-LEAF coorganizes the Meeting “Digital Businesses for Customary Uses ” together with some of its member organizations, namely Fundación Oxígeno, Agalsa and the University of Burgos.
The aim of the event is to promote the entrepreneurship potential of Sierra de la Demanda on digital businesses, by showing success cases and opportunities in the area.
For this, several activities have been organized, all of them open to everyone willing to participate.


DIH-LEAF participates, together with INADE (Grupo Textil Santanderina) in the Project entitled “Deep lEarning for automatiC tExtile iNspecTion” (DECENT). The Project starts in October 2022 and has been financed with close to 100.000 € within the second call of DIH-WORLD, through the prestigious European research programme Horizon 2020. DIH-LEAF offers counselling and digitalization services to the participating SME in this innovation experiment, also being involved in the specific training of DIHs that will be carried out in DIH-WORLD Project.


The Project “Smart Irrigation Tool 4.0” (HEIR 4.0) has the aim of developing an AI algorithm-based model (Machine Learning, more precisely) that together with digital tools (remote-control irrigation, cropping and ambient sensors) will allow to obtain results able to model the irrigation necessities of a number of crops that are cultivated in the Mediterranean basin.
The project is developed in the framework of the IX Proof-Concept call of the University of Burgos, within the University-Enterprise Knowledge-Transfer Plan (TCUE), cofunded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Castile y Leon Council. The proposal has been funded with 10.000 € and has started its activities in April 2022.


DIH-LEAF participates in the DIHNAMIC Project (Digital Innovation Hubs: dynamic facilitation and thrust from regional innovation agencies), coordinated by the Institute for Corporate Competitivity (ICE). This project has been funded with 496.250 €, within the H2020-INNOSUP-2018-06 call from Horizon 2020 programme.
DIH-LEAF contributes with personalized counselling and experimentation services in order to boost the digitalisation of SMEs in Castile y Leon region.


DIH-LEAF participates, as a collaborator, in the project named “The Digital Valley”. This initiative, leaded by one of the DH-LEAF members (AGALSA Local Action Group), is aimed at transforming the Sierra de la Demanda (Burgos). Its objective is building the first digital twin of a valley (Sierra de la Demanda).
